After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn
that company doesn't mean security.
You begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman,
not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
that you really are strong
and you have such worth.
You learn and you learn...
With every good bye
you learn.

Hey Christina,
So is this in reference to whom I think it is??? How is everything going?
I hope you are still liking this semester more than the last one:)
Hey Annie,
Well it's more about life in general, I've always liked this poem because it reminds to be strong and I really am learning a lot this semester. Life is crazy, but I'm actually thankful it's teaching me so much. We need to catch up my friend! I'm comin home this weekend if you guys are gonna be around! :)
love that poem. it is such a great one. Are you coming here this weekend?
Hey! So I was going to come home tonight Tiffany, but my ride didn't work out. So I'm thinking maybe Monday I can try to come down because Sat. isn't looking like it will work either! :( I hope I get to come down!
