The SNUGGIE.

Ok, I will have you know that ever since I first heard of the SNUGGIE, I thought it was the most ridiculous waste of money of the year. Every time I heard mention of the beloved SNUGGIE, I couldn't help rolling my eyes. I mean honestly, why not just go to the hospital and wear one of their gowns instead? Neither the SNUGGIE or the hospoital gowns have backs on them, so it's the same idea. Right?

I guess you could say I was a little on the antiSNUGGIE side. I mean honestly, who wants to watch a movie wearing a backwards robe? Where DO they come up with such weird ideas?

Then out of no where all of my friends started getting snuggies, and having snuggie ceremonies, and joining with the SNUGGIE side. Lame? Yes. In fact, it was so lame I will say it twice. Lame.

But then Christmas day, I ripped open the carefully wrapped present from a SNUGGIE wearing friend and yes...I now own a pink backwards bathrobe.

Also known as: a snuggie.

I'll admit, they aren't as bad as I thought, and they may be overrated. But I have joined the SNUGGIE side and they are actually pretty warm to wear while watching a movie. And still have your arms free and warm.

In fact, I'm wearing my snuggie right now. So before judging the snuggie or rolling your eyes, take it from me...They aren't all bad.

If you completely refuse them like I did, maybe you could go try on your bathrobe backwards. At least those ones would close in the back. snuggie Pictures, Images and Photos

This is what happens...[part 2]

When you haven't had sleep for a week and all the power in the little city of Rexburg goes completely OUT

No traffic lights. No street lights. Nothing. Except the sound of about every apartment in town screaming liike they had never seen a power outage before. It was complete chaos. My roommate started crying, I never saw her cry...until the POWER went out. Who knew?

Everyone had just finished finals so this is what happens when the power goes out in Rexburg...

A dance party in my parking lot! Complete with music from a few cars, lots of random people showing up

And of course fireworks and sparklers! No dance party is complete without those. Even the weather was cooperating at a toasty 34 degress.;)

Last but not least: I know this is sad but this picture is the first time ALL of my roommates and I were together all semester long. I'm not even exaggerating a little bit. It ended up being a lot of crazy-random-finals are over-power is out-type fun.

So next time the power goes out...why not invite all your friends and have a dance pary!?
(don't forget the sparklers.)

Finals

It's almost six in the morning and I am still awake working away. I decided I wanted to take a break and relax for a minute. Finals week is insane. They say your first semester is the hardest. But really...I don't think finals are ever going to get any easier.

Just a little daydreamin'

Sometimes I close my eyes and just forget about everything I need to do.
I remember being little and me and my sister would go rollerblading around the neighborhood.
I remember my family having sock fights in our family room.
I remember playing magic school bus with April and Julie in the car while Jakob played t-ball.
The smell of swim lessons every summer.

Primary, achievement days, young womens.
I remember playing in the snow with my siblings until we couldn't feel our hands anymore.
Then coming inside to a warm fireplace and hot chocolate.
I remember game night.
I remember playing barbies in Julie's room for hours at a time.
Falling asleep to the sound of my wind chime with an open window on a summer night.
Ice cream cones melting, night games, and lots of sun.
Milk chugging contests and the sound of girls giggling at lunchtime.
Swinging, swinging, as much as I could before the school bell rang.
I remember April pulling out my first loose tooth.
And I remember how I never thought that I would ever be old enough to go to college.
Being in high school where my whole world was simply running and friends and sports med.
What to wear?
What to do on Friday night.
So many good, friday nights. and saturday nights.
And games. and meets.
The feeling of working so hard and being so in shape.
Running, running, running.
Then my eyes open and and I am here. And it's all just a memory. My memories. My momentary childhood escape. A daydream reminding me to never grow up, because it really does happen
way
too fast.
