Just a little daydreamin'

Sometimes I close my eyes and just forget about everything I need to do.
I remember being little and me and my sister would go rollerblading around the neighborhood.
I remember my family having sock fights in our family room.
I remember playing magic school bus with April and Julie in the car while Jakob played t-ball.
The smell of swim lessons every summer.

Primary, achievement days, young womens.
I remember playing in the snow with my siblings until we couldn't feel our hands anymore.
Then coming inside to a warm fireplace and hot chocolate.
I remember game night.
I remember playing barbies in Julie's room for hours at a time.
Falling asleep to the sound of my wind chime with an open window on a summer night.
Ice cream cones melting, night games, and lots of sun.
Milk chugging contests and the sound of girls giggling at lunchtime.
Swinging, swinging, as much as I could before the school bell rang.
I remember April pulling out my first loose tooth.
And I remember how I never thought that I would ever be old enough to go to college.
Being in high school where my whole world was simply running and friends and sports med.
What to wear?
What to do on Friday night.
So many good, friday nights. and saturday nights.
And games. and meets.
The feeling of working so hard and being so in shape.
Running, running, running.
Then my eyes open and and I am here. And it's all just a memory. My memories. My momentary childhood escape. A daydream reminding me to never grow up, because it really does happen
way
too fast.

Grocery Shopping

Posted by Picasa

This is my big accomplishment from yesterday! I rode ALL the way to Wal Mart AND back...with $40 worth of groceries. I was so proud of myself! I know it sounds sad, but I actually couldn't stop laughing the whole time. It was just too funny, the brakes hardly even work on the bike. Some guy and his son were walking down the street and the son just started laughing at me when I hit a bump and my hot pockets went flying everywhere. To be honest, I coudn't stop laughing either. Good times, good times.

This is what happens...

THIS is what happens......

when one of my messy room mates leaves her mac and cheese in the microwave for a couple days! Totally and completely disgusting. Yes, that right there is mac and cheese in sponge form. BUT it does serve a few good purposes.
1. a wall decoration. Who needs tacks when it'll just stay up there on it's own?!?
2. Alex and I had a blast playing with it.
3. It can serve as a frisbee, a wall decoration, or maybe (eventually) Katie will eat her mac and cheese? (gross).

College?....when did this happen?

As I write, I sit here with my roomate in the smallest bedroom ever.

I was going to write about college but I still haven't made up my mind about it yet. Sometimes, I absolutely love it then two minutes later, I just want to leave and be done. Call me schizophrenic, but that's how it's been pretty much since I set my foot in this small apt. that has become my home for the next 9 months. Sharing a bathroom actually hasn't been too bad so far, we do pretty good. Up above are some pictures of my apartment. Notice how I didn't put a picture of the bathroom on here...there is a reason for that, haha.

It's weird how a year ago this very place, college, seemed like such a faraway distant place. Like something that would never happen. And I'm not going to lie, I dreaded it for months, since about January actually. I dreaded sharing an apartment with 5 girls, I dreaded college classes, college homework, college wards, college anything basically, and most of all I knew that I would miss my best friend. Some of those things are hard, but not completely. There is some good mixed in with all of the hardness. I still haven't made up my mind about what I think, I'll let ya know someday when I finally get out of this schizophrenic stage. But for now here it is, the ups and downs of my first 2 weeks at college.

Here are some friends, we have lots of fun. We were all dressed up to go SALSA dancing that night.

We fit 8 girls and one boy........

into THIS car....

A miracle.

Paisley Mae about 3 minutes old.

Today I got to see my niece's birth. I got to witness a miracle and it was incredible.
Paisley Mae Davis was born at 1:09 p.m. on August 17, 2009. She is a perfect 7'10 and 20" long. She is the sweetest most beautiful baby girl and we all fell in love with her instantly. It has been a long time but she was totally worth the wait. There isn't a single flaw on her. Her Mom did such a good job and I am so proud of all of them. Words can't describe how awesome they all are. Congratulations to the new Davis family of 3!

I am so excited for them and I can't wait to spoil my new niece.

She is:
amazing.
beautiful.
sweet.
precious.
a miracle.
loving.
snuggly.
adorable.
and any other adjective that describes amazing babies.

Welcome to the world Paisley Mae! :)
